Which sources of heat are suitable for use in a school chemistry laboratory?

  1. Name all the sources of heat you know.
  2. Find out the source of heat used in your school kitchen.
  3. Search the Internet for various sources of heat under the headings: electric furnace vs gas furnace, kiln, coal, gas cooker, Bunsen burner and portable gas burner, and observe them keenly. From your observations, give reasons why a Bunsen burner and portable gas burner (and not the others) are suitable for use in school laboratory.
