Alkenes are hydrocarbons with two bonds (double bond, C=C) between carbon atoms.

Skeletal structure of alkenes is similar to that of alkanes, but with a double bond somewhere within the molecule.

Alkenes with a double bond on the first (or last) carbon atom of the chain are called terminal alkenes. They have terminal double bonds.
